Who needs to register for PAYE?
As soon as one of the employees of the company earns a salary more than the tax threshold, the company needs to register for PAYE at SARS?
What is the tax threshold?
Currently, the tax threshold per month is R7 632. If any employee earns more than this per month, employee tax needs to be deducted.
What happens after the company is registered for PAYE?
After registering for PAYE, the employee tax has to be deducted from the employees every month. A PAYE form, or EMP201, then has to be submitted to SARS before the 7th of every month. The employee tax then also has to be paid over to SARS.
